Being the youngest sibling of three older brothers led to a childhood full of white washes, animal cruelty, and an unnatural obsession with the Cowboys versus Indians debate. While these pastimes certainly hold a place in my heart, I am happy to say that the day my sister was born (11 years my successor) opened up a whole new world to the meaning of "fun"
That being said, I have discovered you are never to old to play dress up in your moms closet:
Special thanks to my sister the model: Alanna Tenney
I am prefacing this with a warning and a promise that it is filled with utmost cheese, and in my future entries I will be decidedly more conventional. There comes a time in everyones life where one has to evaluate their values...I call this part Spring. Stepping back and through the looking glass decide whether the life you have cultivated is fulfilling, challenging, dare I say enjoyable? The tricky part isn't so much in the gaining hindsight, but in the decoding of what you see. I'm going to go ahead and guess that 99% of us didn't plan on where we landed. And lets be honest, like me you're probably partially disappointed & partially ecstatic. So what happens when you realize that the you you are doesn't quite measure up to the you you dreamed up? Where is the line that draws between fantasy and reality when it comes to what you can achieve? between growing up & growing lazy? In the drudges of winter I found myself drowning...literally drowning in negativity and after nearly six months of losing that battle, I've decided I'm ready to start winning. So for the tired, for the poor, for the heart ached, for the disappointed, pick up your pieces and run for the door. Don't be downtrodden anymore. I guess what I'm saying is that in a ring full of fear, I am pushing for optimism. With a move 3500 miles from where I started, a new studio, a head full of ideas...& most importantly a new dream. Here I go. I hope that you will follow me. This blog is going to be about my journey as I venture into the world of fashion, an ENTREPRENEUR starting from the ground up...first order of business, Elizabeth Gilbert's talk on Nurturing Creativity...it makes my heart want to jump out of my chest & I hope it will have the same effect on you:
